National Redbone Coonhound Association   Well did you get your letter about the Redbone Coonhound Association of America ?   It is concerning the charter ship to AKC.  Call Steve Fielder 919-816-3910 for more information.  That's all I will talk of.  I will state I put this in just for information.  There are two worlds of coon hunting.  The competition and pleasure.

Keep Spencer Glisson in your thoughts.  He had a heart attack.  Linda Rose in your thoughts as well.  Her cancer has returned.   National Redbone Days is July 3,4,5.  Holmesville  OH is he place to be.  It was held here 2 years ago.   Emily Plishner has taken over the column writing in American Cooner.

I got a hold of Matthew Martin of Nappanee. He ain't hunting much.  He has a Grand Show Champion.  He is in partners with a guy from Detroit.  He said the tornado that tore through up there missed him about a mile or two.   I talked to Dennis Van Buren.  I caught him.  Sitting in the recliner for the night.  He said he has a young female not doing to bad.  Kinda independent tree dog.  Has really figure that out.  He's heading for the Winter Classic.  Said he hasn't hunt the big hunts like these but is gonna give it a try.  Big hunts you can't get around to see everybody.  He likes the Redbone Breed days.  They are smaller and can get around.  He said he was figuring it was gonna run about $ 400 in gas.  He said Carl Brown has been hunting a good young dog outta  Digger.  He said almost has a Walker man almost converted over to a full blown Red man.  Took about 4 years.  He just has a little ways to to go yet.  He said it's been a good hunting season.  They had the leaves hold on longer than usual.  Only one snow.  I did make mention of how it seems to be its harder to get out once you put another year under your collar.  It don't get any easier.

Talked to the Vice President.  Don Vitali.  Not much going on.  He said he had some plans to make some of the southern hunts.  I did ask him about his truck.  I'm doing my homework.  Sometime this year I hope to change trucks.  Big Red is going on 246,000.  Getting some rust.  The usual signs of old age.  What do you expect for a truck from 1992.

Well my season has been on the light side.  I held off for the leaves.  Worked on the Kids off ground kennel in some of that time.  December came.  Snow laid on for awhile.  Then it melted an slush or slush by day froze by night.  That makes things trickey.  All kinda reminders of a couple years ago.  The New Year.  Snow moved in but not that much 2 1/2".  The temp went South though.    I should see you somewhere on down the track this year.
