NATIONAL REDBONE COOONHOUND ASSOCIATION
I have waited but have had no last minute news. So I will tell you its gonna be
a short column.
Well as you have seen "That old track comes back" The game at the pump has
gotten more outta control. I went back to doing what I did before. My on road
time is cut down. The first hunt at my home club was down. The show was about
average as we drawed 8. The hunt was another story. The draw was 9. I don't
think I have ever seen it so low. I'm sure you have seen the trophy prices go
up. That to is do to some petroleum based components used on them. Chatting with
a guy we discussed the game at the pump. He thought that the local clubs would
do better because of the price. We both kinda wondered how it would affect
Autumn Oaks. From what I have seen in the past probably not. Hard to tell. Right
now the prices are falling but we know that's not fast enough. I'll stop on that
subject.
Good old Indiana weather. This year it seems it can't make it mind up if spring
summer or _____. The month doesn't seem to be a factor either. It got fairly
warm after kill season. Then it thought it would go back to winter as it got
like it. Some temps were in the 20's. That not being normal range for that time
of year. In a way that was a good thing. It put the hurts on the flies. They
aren't as bad as they were last year. I did get a head start on them though.
It's not like it was last year. I don't think I ever seen it like that. Just
sometime ago we got a good shower. It went to July weather in the late of May.
We had a hot streak of like 90's. What's in store God only knows. I know I don't
think I have ever seen it so crazy weather wise. Maybe National Days will be on
the cool side.
