National Redbone Coonhound Association
Well I hope this thing stays on. Last month I had to go back to the old days.
Pen an paper. I was about finished an I got kicked offline. I couldn't get back
on. I took it in an got a new modem. Something else I got was a DVD/CD burner. I
haven't tried it yet. More things to learn an get frustrated with.

nice to see the ads whether it's an old member or new one. It's handy to keep
track of bloodlines for those who track them. Don't forget that donations are
accepted too.
Bolin, Hoffmiester, Childers, Alhands, Doliber, Glisson, an Peel were sit up in
the breeders showcase at Autumn Oaks.
I talked with Fred Moran trying to get some history. This association was
started in 1948. The first National Days was held in 1949 in Salem Illinois.
Some of the names so to say back then was John Myers from Ohio, Hollis Shepherd
of Franklin Indiana, Buzz Doyle of Wisconsin Verne Miller Lake Bluff IL. Verne
was the first President an held the office for 8 years. Buzz had the sec/treas
for 20 years.
Points of interest it was Fred Moran that got Dewyane Brough in the Association.
Earl Turpin got Jean Ramm to join after she bought a dog from him 25 years ago.
That's not hard to recall the year 1982. I graduated high school.
I talked to Brent Peel some. He said it's been over 100 many days in a row in
Tennessee. He said that's to hot.
I talked to Dave Doliber as he showed me pictures. It seems they put the book
together as O.W. Hill died back in May. There some old blood in his line. I
always seem to be interested in the old bloodlines. Especially Tall Timber
Talker that was owned by Dorman Clouse. There were some other older dogs of
interest too.
Had a little chat with Rex an Gene Alhands. Gene showed me a picture of his
horses. He says that's what he does in his spare time. Which is hard to figure.
He told me he puts like 65,000 miles on a year.
Talked some with Meredith & Genevee Slone. He said the best he felt was in his
50's. He's on the short backside of 60 now. Seems all the pickers know Mr
Dulicmer. I don't know the if the grinners now him. Hee Haw humor. Usually if
you know Meredith an he has time. He's slipped off an found some fellow to do
some picking. I have yet to hear him sing an Old Hank Williams song.
Chris Williams found me. I was off guard as he had to remind when we talked. I
think I was getting him confused with another fellow. That seems more an more
frequent as I have talked with quite a few people. Just like in this case I do
get confused. It's one of the side effects of writing so to say. I know start
keeping a log of who I have talked with.
I seen Curtis Elburn. I asked him how he would like to judge the show. He said
that they probably would get mad at him. He has been doing it along time.
Katina Childers was having a good show day on Saturday. If one dog would win
there would have been a family connection of sorts. Memory failure as to how it
would have been. She said she got nervous as she made the cut. Her hands were
shaking. She said that's a first as most know she has many shows.
As always I saw other folks I know. I seen on friend. He had cancer in his
esophagus. I have had friends an family that has battled it. It can be rough.
Well my low profile seems to be disappearing. For me it was like one of those
things you want to get done before you die. I met John Wick. I told him I wish I
had a dollar for ever time I got called Wick. I had asked him if he seen my
website. He said a computer is a stranger to him. I pulled his leg mostly. We
talked of the old black Walk with Wick book. How it blended in some with the new
books. To bad Mark Zepp wasn't there with his camera. I left my camera at home.
Ugh. I told him I figured that a lot of people wanted to talk to him. It was
history for me Wick meets Wicks. I got the book with his autograph too. I think
I have some of those old Full Crys that has his column in it. Now that's some
years ago. The way he requests as sase makes my memory recall Dorman Clouse how
he done the same thing.
Knock him out John. One of us has to have some relief. Me or this souped
wildcat.
Pssst don't tell Jerry I used this line. Ha
