NATIONAL REDBONE COONHOUND ASSOCIATION
National days are gone for another year. All in all I believe it was good. I
amounted to helping some a taking pictures. I learned I didn't have a big enough
chip either. I even learned about the motion section of my camera. That happened
at the water race but don't think it can be played on this thing. We had 3
different judges for the show. The all red show judge was from PA. The other 2
represented OH an IL. We even had the feller form Oh do more work by auctioning.
I'm running notes off of memory. I talked to some people that have I
have emailed. At least you seen the face. Of course I tried to pull a leg or 2.
That's just part of this old dogs line! I even learned a thing or two. One
things for sure there is always somebody out state. It seems I'm usually asking
about the country. Here ain't to much different from Brazil. In some states the
coon population is like x number of coon every so x so many miles. I ain't sure
if I keep up in the hills or mountains. I sure would get excited if I heard an
an ole Elk take off in a run. There wasn't no ballots mailed because those that
got nominated had no competition. Dewayne Brough is the President. Robert Rose
remains Vice. Kitty Brough sec/trea. Like they said it will save on postage. We
are giving $100 to the trophies for US Days. There is a 3 person committee to
work on prizes for National Days. Katherine Bolin is the Horizon winner. A
fellow for NJ brought up that it would be nice to have some guides available a
day or two before National Days. His reason being is some like to do a little
pleasure hunting. That is pretty much it. I can't recall at least one thing or
maybe more. I do my share of audience show judging. One old timer told me that
some judges will break dogs down if it's to close. Another thing that sticks out
is how some writers approach taking notes. Gas price didn't seem to affect to
many. A week later it went to $2.39 because of the attack across the pond a the
hurricane. Hide n seek a that's all I comment about. I thing is for sure you
always know when your in Terre Haute is has that certain smell. Next year
National days will be in the Buckeye State.
Weather wise the weather woman said we have had like 12 days at 90 or more,
since June. We were on the dry side a they were talking drought but we have got
the rain needed. You can sure smell the corn on the hot days! Ole bandit likes
the sweet corn.
Well, at least I haven't had to see my regular Doc this month. I had the
specialist trip though. Comin in a few days I go again. He said I wouldn't have
to worry he's gonna get it under control. I sure hope so. When he said that
first I was leary. Now I am starting to believe him. Just when I start getting
straight the young one pulled her tendon in the back leg. My focus was gonna be
her but laid her up 2 weeks to heal.
I do get some mail. I did get something about a lighted collar. Just recently a
fellow form FL wrote me a note. Mr. Ron Russell is his name. He has had a
redbone around since 1955. He had bloodlines too. He said back in the day he
remembers about hunting with the mules, he had them too. You would hang the
coons and bobcats across the mules. In the hot humid FL weather you hunted in
the mornings mostly. You folks that have a good male he wouldn't mind breeding
to. He didn't say if he had any specifications though. He was letting me know
about Black Cherry concentrate for my on going aggravation.
I like to hear from folks. It does give me something to talk of. If any of you
clubs holding sectionals. I'd love to have pictures a some words too.
Thanks to all those that helped at National Days. It is a big chore to pull of
this event. Without the help things would not be so nice. Another thank goes to
the Brazil Association for hosting.
