National Redbone Coonhound
Association
Well the biggest news. We
have lost our Vice President to UKC I was in Imperial Trophy picking up a plaque
an learned that Alien had went to work for UKC I had emailed Todd an asked how
the new guy was working out He gave me Alien's email so I emailed. Hopefully I
won't have to ask him any questions. I did my first apprenticeship under him
back some years ago. It was smooth until the guy from Michigan came in after the
casts were drawed. He entered way early and had fallen asleep in the truck. I
hope it works out for him. His replacement hasn't been made as of this writing.
Ricky Jayroe has taken the column writing in American Cooner. I talked to him
some last night He was in front of the fire resting his eyes. We talked awhile.
He told me his one dog has arthritis. I told him I knew how that dog felt. He
will go hunting for an hour until he gets stove up. Then its box time till the
ride home. I did find one thing interesting of what he said. He read what I
wrote in the ARCA red book. He told his wife he was gonna meet me someday. Which
kinda reminds me be careful what you want It might become true. I told him that
the biggest thing in writing is getting info from all of you folks. He did meet
the Crocodile Hunter around Thanksgiving. I can't recall his name now. I didn't
ask him about the Hog hunting. Can't say I have ever or ever want to meet a wild
Porky Pig. Well give me a big enough gun.
Have you seen the 2004 red Fern movie yet? Jean Ramme has a dog or 2 that is in
it. I haven't got those hounds paw prints yet HA I don't think Okalahoma Red is
in it either. Don't tell Reba McEntire that I called her that lot.
Well my scenario since last time is better. I ended up going to the ER about 2
a.m. that night I have had one kidney stone before. Ol Sawbones told me to add
an other one. This one didn't feel like it did before. I would hurt and then
quit my regular sawbones told me it probably moved. I did have signs throwing up
like 3 times and the pain that no matter what you do it still hurts. So back to
the zyloprim till I'm dead. I sure don't need a knife cutting on me. A pill a
day to keep the stones away and the gout I sure don't want to end up like my
father. He had 4 or 5operations. Yes kidney stones were a part of his life. That
build up of uric acid what took him away a little over 30 years ago.
Well those that wanted a white Christmas got it Like 9 "of the frozen water. Me
and Big Red had a challenge getting to work last Thursday morning. I thought I
had to be crazy to go get a dog in Wisconsin with like 15 or 16 inches of snow.
Course my front gas tank needs a new pump. Otherwise if I was loaded for bear it
might have been different then over Christmas the penguins moved in. Christmas
eve the temp went to -15. The day after -8. North to Alaska? I think it moved
south to Indiana. Now the temp is like 40 something. They said fog was supposed
to move in last night. It came this morning. Calling for rain and like 50's
tomorrow. Good ole Indiana weather it can change it a minute. I recall a time
some years ago. I went back a lane in this snow melting warm temperatures. I was
okay till I hit the grade down. I had forgot about it I almost got out but had
some assistance help me. After burning some rubber and wondering what the next
move would be. That mid size vehicle had trouble moving Big Red. This kinda
weather is challenging. Hard to know what your gonna get into.
